  • Genre Reading: Grade 5C presents "Frankenstein" Film
    • Over the last few weeks, 5C has been learning about the horror fiction genre. Characterized by physical threats, death, and the unknown, this genre forces the reader to ask: What is truly horrifying? Though we quickly think of things like the dark and spiders, there might be something that goes beyond that. What about the person who does not take responsibility? What about an individual who has an inflated ego? How about the person who is not loving and compassionate? All of these things are the horrors we can find in our daily lives once we start digging for them. It is also exactly the type of horror Mary Shelley was trying to depict in her classic novel, “Frankenstein.” Though we are quick to judge the monster for being evil and hideous, it is the crazed, mad scientist, Victor, who brings him to life. After watching our depiction of the classic novel, you will have to ask yourself the timeless question: Who is the real monster?

  • HALLOWEEN PARTY!
    • A big thank you to those who brought in cupcakes, chips, cheese puffs, fruit skewers, plants, napkins, drinks, and skull straws! You made our party a happy and healthy success!

  • Movie: Young Frankenstein
  • Students concluded the day by making edible blood!
